JUST A FEW SOYBEANS REMAIN IN U.S. FIELDS, USDA SAYS

CORN HARVEST STILL HAS DOUBLE-DIGIT AMOUNTS OF CORN TO BE PICKED.

DES MOINES, Iowa -- The soybean harvest is nearing completion, while the corn harvest is still 17% points from being finished, behind its five-year average.

In its weekly Crop Progress Report Monday, the USDA pegged the U.S. corn harvest at 83% complete, compared with 70% a week ago and a 91% five-year average.
In Iowa, the corn harvest was 85% finished, behind a 92% five-year average, the USDA said. In Indiana, 80% was collected, compared with a 90% five-year average.
Meanwhile, Minnesota growers have just 79% of their corn harvested vs. a 94% five-year average.

SOYBEANS

The U.S. soybean harvest, meanwhile, was 93% finished, still lagging a five-year average of 95%, the USDA said in today’s report.
